Frequently Asked Questions

The CDCP is a government program that helps cover dental care costs for eligible Canadians who don’t have private dental insurance. Coverage includes many basic and preventive dental services.

You may qualify if you:

  • Are a Canadian resident

  • Do not have private dental insurance

  • Have a household income under $90,000

  • Have filed your 2024 tax return and received your Notice of Assessment

As of May 2025, applications are open to:

  • Seniors 65 and older

  • Adults 55 to 64

  • Adults 18 to 54 with a valid Disability Tax Credit certificate

  • Children under 18

  • Adults 18 to 34 (starting May 15, 2025)

  • Adults 35 to 54 (starting May 29, 2025)

Even if you haven’t received a letter from the government, you can apply once your age group is eligible and your taxes are filed.

Covered services may include dental exams, cleanings, X-rays, fillings, extractions, and some other treatments, depending on your income and the CDCP’s guidelines. We’ll help you understand what’s included at your appointment.

Coverage amounts depend on your household income. Some patients will have full coverage while others may have a small co-payment for certain services. We can explain any costs before starting treatment.

Yes! Century Dental is a participating provider and we bill the CDCP directly through Sun Life. You won’t need to submit claims yourself for covered services.

Please bring your CDCP enrollment confirmation, valid government-issued ID, and any relevant medical or dental records. This helps us verify your coverage and provide the best care.
